Securing your WiFi Access Network - NetScout
With ubiquitous WiFi network access many users are connecting to unsecure and open networks without knowing. The trend for mobile devices, 4G, 3G, GSM, now using technologies such as WiFi off-load of voice/ data calls, it is making it extremely difficult to secure the mobile devices from outside parties eavesdropping and the collecting of personal and corporate data (data mining). Users and providers need to be aware of the pitfalls of providing access that is not secure and what is at risk. Credit card data, personal information, corporate intellectual property and potentially having their data locked down with ransomware. WiFi due to its open standards nature is extremely susceptible to hacking and data mining and without the right wireless policies in place users are in for a big surprise.
